day 1

My dear pal Christopher Allman told me the other day that he is currently keeping a gratitude journal. He said that although it sounds a bit cheesy, it actually helps one to remember that hey, life ain't so bad. And heaven knows I need that reminder. My plan is to start using this blog as a daily (hopefully) gratitude journal. So. Let me begin.

Today I am grateful for:

*My patient, selfless mother for helping me clean up the Great Blender Catastophe.
*My best friend for nursing my wounds.
*The barista who brought me my drink to my table.
*The trail of a snail on the sidewalk shimmering in the sunlight.
*Bodhidharma
*The nice cashier at Harmons that complimented me on my tattoo.
*The awe-inspiring clouds and sky (always remember the sky, Meg).
*The gentleness of animals.

h2ohgoodness

Water is holy. It helps immensely when you've stayed up too late drinking too much. It also saves you from the hiccups. Holy is water.

anonymous, not so much

Time to post again.

I am thankful for you, because you are the best teacher I have ever had. (OH you test my patience and kindness and compassion daily.)

sleepy, but thankful

I am thankful for friends like Whitney, Errin, Jennifer, my sister, and others who helped me during one of the hardest times of my life. Great listeners and advice givers. Caring souls.

I am thankful for Georgia O'Keefe and the desert.

I am thankful for myself, sometimes.

on the edge

I am thankful for Jack.
I am thankful for Gigi's comforting words.
I am thankful for softhearted Mom.
I am thankful for reassuring Sister.
I am thankful for corny jokes Dad.
I am thankful for something and that's good enough for me.

I want to go where the sound goes after the bell stops ringing.

I am wearing a pretty great shirt today that I bought at Savers on Monday for about two bucks. I vow to never buy another item of clothing unless it is under 15 dollars. Or unless it is, like, really awesome.

I got to visit Jack's travel writing class today, which was great because they were showing The Sonosopher in class. What a beautiful movie and what a beautiful man (Alex).

Did you know Scott Abbott was Alex Caldiero's home teacher? Wacky, man.

Here's something for you to think about: If you could tell your younger self something, what would it be?

My answer: Be nice to yourself.
